THE GOAL OF EBONY WORLD
The objectives of Ebony World are eight fold, viz:
1. Restore pride in our (your) uniqueness
2. Position our communities for the 21st century and beyond
3. Mentorship through MLM
4. Promote original local ideas and solutions to local problems
5. Mobilize capital for entrepreneurs
6. Raising community and business leaders
7. Promoting job creating initiatives
8. Total education for every child
All these objectives are geared towards one goal only – TO MAKE LEADERS OF MEN. Leaders are achievers, achievement is tied to goals. Therefore, leaders are goal driven. Without goals, there is no drive. The collective of the goals of our leaders is the goal of Ebony. In other words, the goals of our members become the goals of Ebony. Leaders are required to set clear goals. Ebony will provide the necessary support for the achievement of such goals.
Members are required to detail in clear terms their goals. The goals should be discussed with their leaders to determine how best the Ebony community can become a catalyst in the achievement of the goals. It is the cardinal responsibility of members to set and take ownership of their goals. The involvement of Ebony is to SUPPORT you on the journey to achieve. If you have difficulty crafting your goals, consult your leaders, its free.
Everyone can set goals irrespective of the level of education. A very simple way to set goals is
1. Snap a real picture of your business today. Print and write today’s date on it.
2. Determine a mental picture of where you want your business in, say, five years. Recall a place you have seen someone achieve that of level of success. Snap a real picture of this physical representation. Print and write the future date you hope to achieve this on the picture, the date not being later than five years forward.
3. Put the two pictures side by side in place you can see them. This, preferably, should be confidential.
4. From time to time go back and look at the two pictures, focusing all your mental energy on the latter.
The principle is simple – the best way to predict tomorrow is to create it today. No one can feature in a future he cannot picture. And a picture is worth a thousand words. This fulfils the five criteria of goal setting viz: Goals must be
1. Specific
2. Measurable
3. Achievable
4. Realistic, and
5. Time bound
Set Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAG). Your goals must stretch you beyond your comfort zone. The above is a strategic goal. Thereafter, it is easy to set shorter term tactical task oriented goals that can be assessed by milestones as we march together into the future. Your goals are the action plan for the fulfilment of your dreams. Your dream is the child of your soul, guide and nurture it jealously. Don’t allow those who failed at their dreams talk you out of yours. If you do not pursue your dreams, someone else would hire you to help in fulfilling theirs. Remember, salary is the bribe they give you to forget your dreams. Sadly, many dreams have died and been buried, leaving the dreamer walking empty. Don’t permit it in your life.
Your dream represents your life’s Great Purpose, the very reason for your being. What is your life’s great purpose? This has nothing to do with money. Pursuing your life’s great purpose makes you a person of VALUE. Become a person of value and you will stand before kings and not mean men. You will partake of the king’s table and have a share of the palace treasures. Money pursues and works for men of value, the empty ones work for the money. Become a man of value and the world will celebrate you. Your LIFE’S GREAT PURPOSE is beyond bread and butter.
